THE HUNT

A WORLD RENOWNED DUCK HUNT - AT THE TOP OF THE WORLD

Our King Eider hunt is for the true waterfowl adventurer who wants to hunt the most elusive and beautiful of all North American ducks. This hunt also provides excellent hunting for Harlequin and Old Squaw (Long-tailed ducks). We will use quality equipment to ensure a safe and successful hunt, and our fleet of boats and  excellent safety record are proof of this. The Bering Sea is infamous for its inhospitable weather and it usually lives up to its reputation during our hunts. We are prepared for this and will keep our hunters safe, yet still provide opportunities to hunt. We will decoy these birds to custom decoys when the weather permits. During very rough weather we will hunt from shore. Hunters can expect to see healthy populations of King Eiders and other sea ducks while hunting with Alaskan Eider Outfitters.

HUNTING KING EIDERS ON SAINT PAUL ISLAND, ALASKA

Due to the remote areas that King Eiders winter in, hunting for them can be a real challenge. The winter weather in Alaska’s Bering Sea is infamous for its high winds and low temperatures. Alaskan Eider Outfitters has the experience and equipment to provide safe hunts that produce trophy King Eiders and other sea ducks. We use the highest quality equipment and large spreads of decoys to bring them in close.

All of our Captains are US Coast Guard licensed and have extensive experience boating and hunting in the Bering Sea area including the Pribolof Islands, Aleutian Islands and the Alaska Peninsula. Weather permitting we will have our hunters targeting Kings out of our Custom fleet of boats including a 20’ Rib Zodiac, 17’ TDB, and 18’ Zodiac over Custom Decoys. When the weather allows our 3 boat fleet can accommodate all of our hunters, meaning no one is stuck on shore waiting for their chance. When the wind starts to howl, the captains will make the call to hunt from points and other shore locations. Again, SAFETY is always the most important factor everyday on our hunts in this extremely remote location.
